Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the SiteLine Planner suite — including SiteLine RF, SiteLine Dish, and SiteLine Solar (collectively, the "Apps") — handles information when you use them. The Apps are developed and operated by KC3NOX / SiteLine Planner ("we", "us", "our").
We built SiteLine Planner with a simple privacy principle: the Apps should work without us knowing anything about you. No account is required. No advertising is shown. We do not run third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not require an account, sign-up, or login.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not embed third-party advertising or advertising identifiers.
- We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Facebook SDK, no Mixpanel, etc.).
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not access your photos, contacts, microphone, or camera.
2. Information You Provide
The Apps work by analyzing terrain at locations you specify. You may provide locations in three ways:
- By typing latitude and longitude coordinates directly.
- By entering an address or place name, which the App resolves to coordinates.
- By tapping "Use My Location", which prompts your device for its current GPS position.
These coordinates are processed on your device and used to fetch terrain elevation data (see Section 4). They are not stored on any server we control and are not associated with any identifier for you.
3. Location Permission (iOS and Android)
The Apps request location permission only when you tap "Use My Location". We use the standard "While Using the App" permission level on iOS and the equivalent foreground-only permission on Android.
- We never request "Always" / background location.
- We do not track your location while the App is in the background or closed.
- You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the Apps will continue to work, you will simply need to enter coordinates manually.
4. Terrain Elevation API Calls
To provide terrain analysis, the Apps send the coordinates you have entered to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Elevation Point Query Service over HTTPS. Only the geographic coordinates necessary to retrieve elevation values are transmitted. No personal identifiers are sent.
The USGS service is operated by the United States federal government and is subject to its own privacy practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to review the USGS privacy policy at usgs.gov/privacy.
Apart from these elevation queries, the Apps do not transmit your data to any server we operate.
5. On-Device Storage
The Apps may store your preferences (such as units of measurement, recent locations you have manually saved, and antenna or panel presets) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is removed if you delete the App or clear its data through your device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
The Apps are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). Because we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Security
Network requests for terrain data are made over HTTPS. Because no personal data is transmitted to or stored by us, the privacy risk surface of the Apps is intentionally minimal.
8. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal information, we have no records to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Any data the App stores about your use is held locally on your device and is fully under your control.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at sitelineplanner.com/privacy.html. Continued use of the Apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
